Three weeks 'til blast-off

This is my first post. Just figuring out the mechanics of blogging is a challenge to a person of a certain age but, since I have told numerous people that I would blog about my adventure, I am making my initial attempt. Wish me luck....

Most of you reading these words will know who I am and why I am writing. For the few of you who stumble upon this site and don't know me, here is a tiny introduction. I am a 61 year old, single, recently retired woman about to embark on trip to Spain to walk the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. Three weeks from today, I will have flown from Winnipeg to Montreal, and then across the Atlantic Ocean during the night, to land in Paris on Tuesday morning. In a sleep-deprived state, I will go to the train station beneath Charles de Gaulle airport and find a train to take me to southwest France. I will sleep in a small town called St. Jean Pied de Port. In the 2 1/2 months that follow that arrival, I plan to walk 800 Km, alone, carrying my gear on my back.

Many, many people have done this. Walking all or part of the Camino is a popular activity. I am not special. This blog deserves no attention. However, many people I have met have shown a huge interest in my quest and I have offered to blog so those of you who are curious can travel along with me.

So ends my first post. I tried to post something yesterday, it being 3 weeks from the START of the adventure, but I had technical failure due to knowledge deficit (ie. I don't know how to do this!)...... OK, I'm pressing "PUBLISH".
